I have quite a few favorite cracker dip flavor combinations, but one which most suits me at the moment is blending fresh figs, kalamata olives, rosemary, extra virgin olive oil, a pinch of blue agave nectar and balsamic vinegar together into a tapenade, with a pinch of chipotle pepper and Celtic sea salt. I like to call it the Tintinnabulous Tapenade! =)
ReplyDeleteI also have to offer a special mention in that, over the Passover, I tried some homemade charoset on shmura matzo.......remembering just how delectable charoset in general is........and took some leftover charoset and dipped it on pretzel chips and savory mini thins as well. My friend likes preparing charoset with organic coconut palm sugar instead of honey, and also gives it a unique touch in that it includes crushed hazelnuts in addition to the traditional dates, apples, figs, raisins and cinnamon.
ReplyDeleteMy new favorite cracker topping is liver pate. I tried some from Whole Foods they had for Passover and it was delicious! Otherwise homemade guac or hummus are my go-tos.

ReplyDeleteHave any of you ever tried Toby's Tofu Paté? Awwwww, you've GOT to try some if you haven't partaken it already! @.@

ReplyDeleteHummus.
ReplyDeleteJust discovered the best topping combo. Tried this on matzo but I'm betting you could branch out to other crackers:
ReplyDeleteBrummel & Brown (a lighter, creamy, butter-like spread made with natural yogurt)
+ a drizzle of raw agave syrup (I used Trader Joe's)
+ a sprinkle of sea salt
= Soooo good!!!
