An Event Fit For Wonderland: The Bazaar's High Tea!
Cucumber Bites & Beet-Goat Cheese Macaroons
It's good to take a trip down the proverbial rabbit hole every now and again, and I'm sure Jose Andres would agree with me given the very Wonderland-like vibe of his Los Angeles eatery, The Bazaar. I've written up the main restaurant on a few occasions (click here and here and here for those posts), and I love their tasting menu in particular, but I'd never ventured to their "high tea" until I went with a group of girls from my book club (yes, Oprah would approve!).
The restaurant serves high tea from 3PM - 5PM on Saturday and Sunday in the patisserie, a lovely area stuffed full of sweet goodies that I'm sure even Willy Wonka would find irresistible. The cost for the tea is $25, and that includes a pot of "specialty" tea or coffee and all the coursed out goodies.

Divalicious Restaurant Reviews: Lucques, Osteria Mozza & The Bazaar
Last weekend, the Original Diva (my mother), The Wine Lover (my father) and The Top Chef (my brother), all arrived in LA in the spirit of family and food. To kick back, have a drink, relax by the pool and meet the Adorable Monster. And I must report that this time around, he behaved himself admirably! No humping. Ok, maybe only a little. No biting. Ok, maybe a lot of biting. The Top Chef remained unconvinced, telling the puppy, "you have to earn my trust!" Let's hope that by the end of the weekend, he did just that!

A Guide To Divalicious Dining: Comme Ca, The Bazaar by Jose Andres & Lucques
For Mother's Day weekend, Kuzak and I had the pleasure of hosting his parents. From the moment they were fresh off the plane from Des Moines, the dining extravaganza began, kicking off at Il Pastaio, a lovely Italian eatery in Beverly Hills, where we feasted on delicious antipasto, including the Rillini di Melonze (eggplant wrapped with goat cheese) and the Bresaola (cured beef served with arugula and hearts of palm).

The Bazaar By Jose Andres Nominated for James Beard Award!

Hey Divas, I had to share the news that the Los Angeles eatery, The Bazaar by Jose Andres, was 1 of only 5 restaurants nominated for a prestigious James Beard award for Best New Restaurant! Congrats to them - I had a wonderful time eating there last month. To see the other nominees click here!

New York Times Reviews The Bazaar!

Hey Divas, thought I would post the New York Times review of The Bazaar by Jose Andres, the new Los Angeles restaurant I reviewed last month (click here to read my review). The LA Times gave it four stars, and this reviewer seems equally impressed. He cites many of the same dishes I tried and reviewed. He also mentions two of my other favorite molecular gastronomy restaurants - WD-50 in New York - and my absolute favorite - Alinea in Chicago. This is an exciting restaurant - one certainly worth trying.

Divalicious Restaurant Reviews: The Bazaar by Jose Andres

Diva Rating: 4 Stars (on a 5 star scale)
Of all the cooking styles in the universe, from Italian, to French, to Asian, there's one style I've come to love the most. Known commonly as "molecular gastronomy," the famous Spanish chef, Ferran Adria of El Bulli in Spain (the restaurant I most want to eat at before I die) is often credited with pioneering this unique sub-genre of cooking.
